Taking time out to pause and feel into your body is vital in pregnancy; during this part of your life you're more sensitive emotionally and physically. Being aware of sensations, changes and feelings can help you use them to your benefit. Each class has an element of guided relaxation as well as cues to help you notice sensation throughout the class, plus you'll get an audio file to use at home.

How can Moving Towards Birth course help you?
Mind & Body
We explore the head to toe of the physical side of pregnancy, and also look at the emotional and social changes that happen during pregnancy.
Strong and Active
As well as keeping you moving through pregnancy, the movement and postures will get you ready for birth. We'll look at gravity, and ways to make space for baby to arrive with ease.
Yoga improves circulation, helping the blood flow freely through the body and providing more oxygen to both mum and child. This may in turn help lower blood pressure and help you stay healthy.
Through movement and massage, these classes promote the flow of oxytocin. It’s the magic ‘love hormone’ that helps you birth and breastfeed your baby. Getting into this zone every week can be hugely beneficial to prepare for birth.
Knowledge is power! Learning more about the process of birthing will help you feel more able to make the right decisions for you.
Adapt and prepare
Having space and time to adapt to pregnancy and new motherhood can be vital for peace of mind. In classes there’s time to chat, share experience and meet other mums.

We'll practice centering and relaxation techniques each week. The more you practice the techniques the easier they become.

Each fortnight we'll cover one aspect of the birth process. There will be time to chat and share experiences over a cuppa, plus additional info emailed to help keep you calm and feeling prepared for birth and beyond. Throughout the 3 months of the course there will be regular online support available. We'll talk hormones, coping with pain, breathing for birth and practice positions for labour. There will be time to ask questions and all attendees will get special discounts on workshops for couples.
