If you've recently had a baby chances are that you're feeling it in your back, shoulders and wrists. Perhaps you're having issues with abdominal separation, your pelvic floor or feeling less at home in your body than before. These classes offer a regular nurturing space to reconnect to yourself while acknowledging the changes that come with early motherhood.
Movements are yoga based with a good dose of postural alignment and practical life tips. Covering all the owie bits and looking at changes you can make to your daily habits that can improve make improvements that go beyond the yoga studio.

What to expect?
a place to BE as much as DO
There are babies in the room. Sometimes mamas haven't slept well. Some folks will get more chance to move others will be tending to baby more. Try not to place to big an expectation on getting things done in class.
You'll get back up material to use at home, classes are a space for community and being as much as doing the exercises. There's also space to sleep if you need it, extra eyes and arms to help with baby, people to listen to you, plus biscuits, tea.
You can rock up in your PJs if it's that kind of a day.
It's a no judgement zone.
BENEFITS OF CORE CARE POSTNATAL
Classes are for new mothers in the first 6 months postnatal, whatever your experience: Mums who may have had caesarean births, pelvic floor issues, abdominal separation or are breastfeeding are all welcome (provided your GP gives you the go-ahead).
Balance & posture
Yoga can help you adjust to the changes in your the body. Classes are designed to ease aching shoulders and get you back to moving after the birth of your baby.
Movement to gently strengthen legs, arms and core muscles every week can help ease you through get through the early months of parenting.
Soothe aches & pain
Common pain areas such as tense shoulders and lower back pain can be gently stretched to help you get on with caring for your baby more comfortably.
Time for you
Having space and time to adapt to new motherhood can be vital for peace of mind. In classes there’s time to chat, share experience and meet other mums.
ABOUT your teacher
Pregnancy and Postnatal specialist since 2008
Emilie is mum to 2 children and began practicing yoga during her first pregnancy over 14 years ago. As well as being a qualified yoga teacher, Emilie is trained as an antenatal teacher, doula and in pregnancy and postnatal massage. She's completed specific training in Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation which affects up to 60% of women ) and studied movement in and after Pregnancy with internationally renowned movement expert Katy Bowman .
Combining modern techniques like biomechanics with Embodied Yoga Principles, Emilie's unique and practical classes can help you to step into your role as a new mum with greater physical comfort and confidence. She will guide you through simple exercises, breathing and relaxations to help you find strength in body and mind to prepare you for birth and being a new mum.
